Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled Apprentice Plumber to join our Construction Division in Saskatoon, SK. As a hands-on professional with a passion for the trade, you will have the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting experienced plumbers with various tasks, including pipe joining methods, tool operation, and diagnostic techniques. You will also be required to work independently, with supervision, to thread pipe, install laundry boxes, and perform other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced plumbers with pipe joining methods, tool operation, and diagnostic techniques
  • Thread pipe, install laundry boxes, and perform other duties as required
  • Work independently, with supervision, to complete tasks
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 emergency on-call support

Education Requirements:

  • Cross Connection Control Certification is considered an asset
  • A-Gas Certification is considered an asset

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Relevant Industry Experience (Required)
  • Consideration may be given to those who do not possess all the above requirements if they are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, passion for the trade, and a desire to learn

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

  • Clean Class 5 SK Driver's License and abstract
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strength, stamina, and the use of proper lifting techniques required to handle heavy tools and parts weighing up to 25 kilograms
  • Ability to visualize a finished product from a document
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying
  • Ability to work in high, awkward, and noisy places
  • Ability to work alone or with others
  • The ability to contribute to a highly team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills
