This role is responsible for managing a team of media planners and supporting the Account Director in delivering client objectives while balancing agency trading goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing team members to achieve individual growth targets
  • Overseeing output from the team, ensuring quality control on documents produced
  • Understanding trading implications of planning decisions to ensure agency and client objectives are met
  • Ensuring each team member understands and delivers against client key performance indicators/targets
  • Supporting the Account Director in prioritizing client and business objectives for the team
  • Managing upwards to resolve challenges quickly and efficiently

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in media, advertising, business administration, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of media planning experience with all media channels and 1 year of team leadership experience
  • Strong people leadership skills, ability to lead, coach, and develop top talent while addressing performance
  • Knowledge of bid management, campaign management, and optimization processes with key data, supply, and DSP partners
  • Advanced knowledge of media planning and research tools
  • Ability to instill confidence and manage expectations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced analytical skills, proficient with numbers and budgets to illustrate client business objectives
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and people skills
  • Advanced level MS Office skills: Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
