Project Engineer-Civil Job Description

At Teck Resources Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer-Civil to join our Site Engineering Department at Highland Valley Copper. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of sustaining engineering projects, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our mining facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to meet business objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise to carry out civil engineering services and projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project opportunities, and develop business cases to support project justification.
  • Manage project costs, schedules, and resources, and provide accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Supervise and coordinate with on-site contractors and hourly workers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of technical scopes and business justifications for sustaining and betterment projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
  • 3-5 years of project management experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Valid driver's license.
