About the Role

BDO is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team of innovative professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of engineers, developing cutting-edge cloud native solutions and contributing to the growth of our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud native solutions for a modern CI/CD ecosystem
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers to build real-world cloud scale solutions across public and private clouds
  • Contribute to the development of platforms in Azure, AWS, and GCP public clouds
  • Promote automation and infrastructure best practices
  • Create educational materials for fellow engineers, including sample cloud native apps and starter code
  • Continuously learn new technical skills and apply them in daily work
  • Provide mentorship to peers
  • Lead the installation, upgrades, and integration of current and future Kubernetes platforms, technologies, and tools
  • Develop criteria for and participate in the evaluation of third-party vendors and software, as well as due diligence exercises
  • Design and implement highly available, scalable, and resilient applications for cloud native and non-cloud technologies
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, and implementation phases of projects
  • Define, plan, and execute high-level team activities, such as recommendations for architecture and process improvements
  • Recommend strategies to drive down costs and improve efficiencies with supported vendor software and written code
  • Provide direction to support staff in conducting performance tuning and capacity planning activities within the Cloud Infrastructure platform

Requirements
  • Possess a passion for making developers more efficient through DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
  • 5-7 years of experience with Infrastructure Automation and Infrastructure as Code (Azure, AWS)
  • 5-7 years of experience with Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, Ansible, Artifactory
  • 5-7 years of experience creating and manipulating YAML files
  • 5+ years of experience as a Linux system administrator, ideally on RHEL
  • Experience with container platforms, ideally Kubernetes and/or Docker
  • Experience with AWS Infrastructure, Cloud Formation, Python, Java Full Stack, Azure, Packer, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Hybrid Services, ARC, Databases, OpenShift, Anthos, Networking
  • Excellent communication skills necessary to work on a geographically distributed team
