Custom Wood Furniture Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Custom Wood Furniture Maker to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a key member of our furniture manufacturing department.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality custom wood furniture pieces, working closely with our design team to bring clients' visions to life. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled woodworker to join a dynamic team and contribute to the creation of unique and beautiful furniture pieces.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate various woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form wood components.
- Prepare detailed specifications for custom-made cabinets, ensuring maximum storage and functionality.
- Shape and finish wood surfaces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, and wood files.
- Study plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure accurate production of furniture pieces.
- Assemble and trim joints, fitting parts and subassemblies together to form complete units.
- Sand and finish wood surfaces, applying veneer, stain, or polish as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Estimate costs and materials, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Repair and restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products as required.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Will train on the job.
