About the Role:
Teledyne Digital Imaging, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team. As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor unit cost variance by reviewing bi-weekly purchase price variance reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare revenue, COGS, and margin analysis reports, providing insights to management for informed decision-making.
- Reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring accurate inventory levels and minimizing losses.
- Update bookings and backlog reports, providing visibility into production and sales trends.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis of manufacturing cost variances, identifying root causes and implementing process improvements.
- Review, analyze, and update standard costs, ensuring accuracy and relevance to current market conditions.
- Coordinate and document quarterly obsolescence and reserve reviews, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with yearly inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of inventory records.
- Conduct warranty reserve analysis and review, ensuring adequate provisions for potential warranty claims.
- Prepare quarterly audit requirements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Assist in SOX documentation related to operations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support various cost accounting special projects, providing expertise and guidance to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices, with experience in inventory management and control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple groups within the organization.
- Proficient skills in Excel and ERP systems, with experience in SAP a plus.
- CPA or equivalent designation, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset, able to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
