Automotive Service Educator

North Island College is seeking a qualified substitute instructor for the Automotive Service Technician program at our Campbell River and/or Port Alberni Campuses. As an Automotive Service Educator, you will be responsible for instructing Foundation and Apprenticeship programming as per institutional and provincial outcomes and standards. Your instruction will encompass comprehensive theory and technical training specific to AST, and other responsibilities include curriculum development, lesson planning, tool and equipment maintenance, participating in recruitment initiatives, and liaising with regional employers.

To achieve this vision, we are looking for an individual who possesses excellent instructional abilities, excellent organizational and time management skills, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct Foundation and Apprenticeship programming as per institutional and provincial outcomes and standards.
- Develop and implement curriculum and assessments that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain accurate records of student enrollment and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of Education and Strategic plans.
- Participate in College committees and activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Interprovincial Qualification (Red Seal) in Automotive Service Technician.
- Certificate of Apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a journeyperson in the Automotive Service field.
- Experience instructing adults in a post-secondary environment.
- Completion of the Provincial Instructors Diploma program.
