About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Department of Education, Western Australia as a Secondary School English Teacher. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language and literature education to students in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and relevant English language and literature curricula for students in Years 7-12.
  • Teach English language and literature courses, including ATAR, General, and Certificate courses.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with curriculum developments.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Western Australian College of Teaching.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the Western Australian English language and literature syllabus.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and students to achieve academic excellence.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to ongoing professional learning and development.
