About the Opportunity
The Squamish Nation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ASCD Consultant to join our Ayás Mén̓men Early Years & Youth Services Department. As an integral part of our team, you will work collaboratively with community childcare programs and other child development professionals to provide family-centered services, early intervention, and child development support to children aged 0-19 with developmental delays or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide family-centered services, early intervention, and child development support to children aged 0-19 with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with community childcare programs and other child development professionals to achieve shared goals.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and families.
- Conduct home visits and provide support to families in their homes.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to child development support.
Requirements
- Combination of education and experience in child development, early intervention, or a related field.
- Professional, adaptable communication style with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others.
- High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use a cultural safety framework when working with Indigenous children, families, and communities.
