Quality Improvement Intern

As a Quality Improvement Intern, you will support the Quality and Patient Safety department in driving excellence in healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support corporate quality improvement, patient safety, and professional practice initiatives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on clinical appropriateness, efficiency, effectiveness, workflow, access to care, continuity of care, safety, and patient experience
  • Apply a systems-focused approach to achieve optimal results in quality, safety, reliability, efficiency, and productivity
  • Develop and identify performance and outcome indicators
  • Engage in data collection, interpretation, analysis, and presentation
  • Partner with Risk Management on key patient safety initiatives
  • Develop presentations, reports, and training materials
Requirements:
  • Enrollment in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program
  • Registered Nurse in good standing with a minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience
  • Data management and statistical experience desirable
  • Proven ability to stay up-to-date with healthcare quality assurance trends, practices, and legislation
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data for quality improvement
  • Previous experience in hospital projects, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and designing software
  • Experience with healthcare information systems and electronic health records

  • Effective at building relationships and collaborating with stakeholder groups
  • Self-directed and able to manage projects and priorities
