The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is seeking a highly skilled Property Assessor to join their team. As a key member of the Revenue & Assessment department, you will provide expert assessment and analysis in the valuation of residential and non-residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment expertise and analysis in the valuation of property types
  • Collect and analyze complex data to inform assessment valuations
  • Interpret and apply relevant provincial legislation
  • Communicate and defend assessment information effectively
  • Apply assessment knowledge to inform other City functions and projects
Requirements:
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in property assessment or related field
  • Professional designation - Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA), Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI), Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA), Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES) or Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE)
  • Valid Alberta Driver's license
  • Use of a personal vehicle
  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience in valuation
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate sound judgement
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in conflict situations

Remuneration:

$44.99 to $47.36 per hour

Hours of Work:

75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, some evening and weekend work may be required
