Firefighter Job Description

OP Fire and Safety is seeking a skilled Firefighter to join our team in a casual capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and maintain firefighting and shower equipment according to established procedures.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip equipment inspections and submit written service requests detailing any issues or required repairs.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings focusing on specific hazards.
  • Orientate personnel on the location of safety, shower, and firefighting equipment.
  • Maintain an up-to-date roster of personnel on location.
  • Provide fire and shower protection services in accordance with standard operational procedures.
  • Operate company vehicles professionally, adhering to OPFS policy, highway traffic laws, and private road rules.
  • Maintain a DOT log book.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of job-related paperwork.
  • Participate in meetings involving large groups of personnel for operational, hazard identification, and organizational purposes.
  • Communicate with dispatch for efficient asset management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NFPA 1 Level 1 & 2 certification.
  • NFPA 1 certification.
  • 3Q License.
  • NFPA 2/S certification.
  • Wildland certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to pounds, occasional lifting and/or moving up to pounds.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing.
  • Fundamental understanding of drilling, service, and completion environments, with a general working knowledge of associated processes.
  • Capability to operate fire pumps and associated appliances.
  • Firefighter training meeting NFPA 1 and/or 1 standards.
  • Experience in using breathing apparatus and gas detection equipment.
