We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Bison Transport Inc. This is a permanent position that offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

About the Job

The Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy-duty equipment, including trucks and farm equipment. They will also be required to diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment, adjust equipment, and repair or replace defective parts. Additionally, they will need to keep maintenance reports and documentation up-to-date.

Responsibilities
  • Instruct apprentices in equipment operation and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A driver's license (Class 3 or D)
  • A Truck and Coach Service License (310T)
  • A Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
  • 3 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment repair and maintenance
  • Familiarity with diesel engines and their components
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
