Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team at Dami Sushi Japanese Restaurant.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires working on site at our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cooking and experience in managing kitchen staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, cleaning kitchen and work areas, and recruiting and hiring staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and organization, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting efficiency and consistency in kitchen operations.
  • Sourcing and Inventory: Order supplies and equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and manage food, supplies, and equipment levels.
  • Housekeeping and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for staff and customers.
  • Talent Acquisition: Recruit and hire staff, selecting candidates with the necessary skills and qualifications for kitchen roles.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar culinary position.
  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate as a minimum educational requirement.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
