Painter and Decorator

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Shield Masonry Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and painting surfaces, as well as repairing cracks and holes. The ideal candidate will have experience with various painting techniques, including brush painting, conventional spray painting, and roller painting.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, clean, and paint surfaces to a high standard
- Repair cracks and holes in walls and surfaces
- Mix paint to the desired colour and texture
- Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
- Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
- Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
- Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
- Estimate costs and materials
- Clean and prepare surfaces
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Ability to work outdoors and at heights
- Ability to distinguish between colours
- Hand-eye co-ordination
- Physical demands of the job include bending, crouching, and kneeling
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
The successful candidate will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors and at heights. The work environment will be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
