Job Title: Department Store Team Lead
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Department Store Team Lead to join our team at Asian Food Centre. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our department store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign sales workers to duties and oversee their performance
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to excel in their roles
- Authorize payments by cheque and manage cash handling
- Order merchandise and maintain inventory levels to meet customer demand
- Establish work schedules and supervise office and volunteer staff
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that stock levels are accurate and up-to-date
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or supervisory role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
