Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Cencora. This role requires a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Filling Prescriptions:
  • Filling prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician
  • Supporting Patient Care:
  • Assisting patients with prescription pickups and addressing any concerns they may have
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Entering, scanning, and processing prescriptions using Kroll Pharmacy software
  • Maintaining accurate data in pharmacy files and computer drives
  • Verifying that customers receive the correct prescription(s)
  • Maintaining workflow through effective task prioritization and teamwork
  • Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Screening telephone calls for pharmacists
  • Ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory of medications
  • Preparing and processing billings, claims, disbursements, and related documents
  • Reviewing invoices or other documentation
  • Packing and shipping prescription orders according to established protocols
  • Maintaining pharmacy records
  • Reporting Adverse Events in accordance with provincial regulatory standards and, where applicable, internal and contractual obligations
  • Assisting with general housekeeping and administrative duties

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma is preferred
  • Pharmacy experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in Kroll is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Bilingualism, French/English is an asset
