Job Description

Fidelity Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for leading the corporate accounting function, including the combined entity and individual business channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the corporate accounting team, including 4 individuals, and work closely with the offshoring team in Fidelity India.
  • Deliver accounting services to Canadian businesses, including month-end close process, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and analysis of technical accounting issues.
  • Develop new accounting processes and controls to support business growth and changes, including establishing accounting practices for new legal entities and enhancing accounting processes for key financial statement areas.
  • Assist in coordinating external audits for all entities, including preparation of financial statements, review with management, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Manage complex accounting needs of entities within the Canadian Joint Venture structure, including financial reporting and monthly close activities.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a University degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent designation is required.
  • Professional experience in a Big 4 firm is preferred, with subsequent experience in the financial services industry.
  • Prior people management skills are required.
  • Prior experience in an accounting function, including month-end and year-end audit activities.
  • Understanding of asset and wealth management in Canada is an asset.
