We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist to join our team at Blue Bird Custom Design Ltd.

About the Job

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced carpenter to work on various construction and renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Job Summary: As a Woodworking Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout Preparation: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
  • Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Structural Work: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and Installation: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Estimation: Estimate costs and materials required for projects.

Requirements:

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful as a Woodworking Specialist, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Abilities: Be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions. This role requires physical demands and may involve working outdoors.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate client focus, judgement, teamwork, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
