MES Technician Job Description
Plasman is seeking a skilled MES Technician to join our team. As an MES Technician, you will be responsible for the staging, operation, support, troubleshooting, and standardization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a mission-critical 24X7 production system environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the staging shop floor equipment, as well as operation, support, troubleshooting, and standardization of the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a mission-critical 24X7 production system environment.
- Accountable for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) IT support to all Plasman facilities and responsible for production support and maintenance, including off-hours/weekend support issues and possible scheduled shift rotations.
- Accountable for first-line support of the + MES workstations and + barcode printers and scanners across Plasman locations.
- Responsible for commissioning, setup, configuration, and deployment of hardware and software for MES projects and product launches.
- Responsible for proactive and preventative maintenance and support of MES equipment; PC's, networking, barcode printers, scanners, and other MES-related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and support MES / RTL and other IT-related helpdesk tickets.
- Ensure appropriate equipment inventory is maintained and available for production use.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Promote an atmosphere of teamwork at all times.
- Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.
- Ensure that sufficient resources are available for each department, including training, safety requirements, personnel, work instructions, procedures, and related tools.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in IT/Manufacturing environments.
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing execution system (MES) and/or IT systems.
- Prior barcode/label printer and scanner experience.
- Proficiencies in MS SQL, .NET, PMP, SCRUM, etc.
- Domain experience/certifications with MES (manufacturing execution systems), MOM (manufacturing operations management), SCADA, and MRP/ERP-related systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
