We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our team at Valbruna ASW Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing upgrades/enhancements to our existing process control systems.

They will work closely with our team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to increase operational efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing critical process control systems utilizing PLCs, HMIs, and other intelligent electronic devices.
  • Maintain, develop, and improve control concepts, program design, and instrumentation/operator interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and implement upgrades/enhancements to existing process control systems.
  • Work effectively with both hourly trades and production workers as well as with management.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • Experienced in PLC and HMI programming including Allen Bradley, ControlLogix /RS Logix, Siemens, Wonderware, and Factory Talk.
  • Electrician license or PLC certification would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of automated systems and can show a good understanding of the basic theory of industrial control systems applications, design, and operation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and understand electrical schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, Access, PCS/SCADA as well as experience with computer-assisted design (AutoCAD).
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g., Remote I/O, Modbus over TCP/IP) is required.
