Job Title: Elementary School Counsellor

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to fill a full year, full time, and part time temporary contract as an Elementary School Counsellor with Central Okanagan Public Schools (School District No. 23) in Kelowna, BC.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to students in grades K-6
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the needs of students
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support
  • Provide training and experience as an Elementary School Counsellor as per School District Policy #510 and #510R
Requirements:
  • A professional teaching certificate
  • A minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • A master's degree recognized by the Teacher Regulation Branch in counselling psychology (or a related discipline with a focus in counselling)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training and experience as a School Counsellor
  • Experience with grades K-6 age groupings
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)
