Job Title: Senior/Intermediate Equipment Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Intermediate Equipment Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and equipment engineering support for nuclear power plant components and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical specifications, test procedures, commissioning plans, and registration design submissions for nuclear power plant components and mechanical systems.
- Perform conceptual and detail design activities for mechanical systems, including flow sheets, detail drawings, equipment arrangement/layouts, and sizing and selection of mechanical components.
- Coordinate medium to large-scale projects of considerable technical and commercial complexity.
- Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning tasks.
- Define project work scope, monitor and report project progress, and communicate with clients.
- Review and approve supplier's capability to fabricate required components within applicable requirements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Engineering Science and Registered Professional Engineer (PEng) in Ontario.
- 8+ years of experience in Mechanical Design of industrial machines and/or in Equipment Engineering with knowledge in pumps, fans, motors, valves, heat exchanges, steam generators, pressure vessels, etc.
- Solid understanding of process systems, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection, and fundamentals of machine component design.
- Solid understanding and experience with equipment sizing, selection, and troubleshooting of issues.
- Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ANSI B31.1 codes, ASME Section VIII, and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems is an asset.
- Willing to travel to and potentially work at project sites to meet corporate needs.
