**Job Summary**

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our retail team. As a key member of our store staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including store policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and store displays, maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced retail environment, with a strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with some post-secondary education or experience in retail sales or customer service an asset.

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

  • Stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Bend, twist, and squat to access stock and merchandise.
  • Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.) of merchandise.
  • Perform tasks involving firm grasping and repetitive hand motions.
  • Reach above shoulder height and below waist level to access stock and merchandise.
  • Operate equipment, including using a ladder.
