About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to join our team as a Student Monitor. As a Student Monitor, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational environment and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support students in the classroom and other indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Follow instructions from the Principal/Vice-Principal or teacher in charge.
  • Manage minor student discipline issues and escalate more serious matters to the Principal/Vice-Principal.
  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning and encourage enthusiasm among students.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience, and flexibility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Cooperate with school staff regarding safety protocols, emergency plans, and school procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with discretion.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education relating to children and youth is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children is a strong asset.
  • Ability to follow instructions and use initiative.
  • Strong communication, judgment, and decision-making skills when interacting with students.
  • Ability to read and understand student safety and/or behavior plans and alert the Principal/Vice-Principal as necessary.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information.
  • Possess an understanding of and a willingness to support the mission of a Catholic school system.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and responsible team player.
