Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AZ Driver to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As an AZ Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up heavy construction equipment, ensuring timely and safe transportation of our equipment to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment, securing it according to company procedures and inspecting it during transit if necessary.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment, maintaining accurate records of delivery and pickup.
  • Secure customer signatures on contracts, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisors of any difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and job sites, informing management accordingly.
  • Verify delivered items to ensure customers receive the correct equipment.
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, notifying customers as necessary.
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation.
  • Handle damaged or missing equipment, completing necessary forms and reporting to the Branch Manager.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections, checking gas, oil, and fluid levels.

Requirements

  • Valid Class AZ driver's license with a driver's abstract (no more than three demerit points).
  • Familiarity with local roads.
  • Experience operating and delivering heavy construction equipment, including earthmoving equipment and aerial equipment.
  • Availability to work overtime when required.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
