We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in the Operating Room, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their surgical experience.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and psycho-social needs, identifying problems and developing plans to address them.
- Provide nursing care to patients according to established standards and hospital policies, including scrubbing and circulating duties.
- Coordinate and provide nursing care to patients, ensuring that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research, identifying patient care issues and collecting data to inform best practices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year's recent relevant clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area, and completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
- Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area.
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
- Ability to determine and deal with emergency situations, recognize acuity changes, and use factual information to support nursing decisions and actions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare professionals using verbal, written, and electronic applications.
