URD Foreperson

About this Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced URD Foreperson to lead our underground utility distribution construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas. As a member of our Western Utilities team, you will be responsible for performing and leading general activities on year-round sites, ensuring project milestones are accomplished in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a URD team and take initiative to drive project success
• Coordinate material pickup and delivery, and direct tradespersons as required
• Provide direction and guidance to heavy equipment operators and signal operators
• Assist in installing various utilities and being familiar with specification requirements
• Operate pneumatic tools, tampers, and other equipment as directed
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Education and Work Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 5 years' experience working in the construction industry as a URD Foreperson, on utilities (electrical/civil) projects

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements

• Ability to work safely
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Possess a valid Alberta Drivers License, Class 5 (or 3), and a clean drivers abstract
• Experience in reading and interpreting utility locates/blueprint drawings, and ordering materials such as aggregates
• Ground Disturbance Certification

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including an estimated salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and location. Additionally, we provide long-term stability, opportunities for growth and development, and a collaborative and supportive work culture.
