Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Nolan Drugs, Medigroup in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacist to work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in regular scheduled visits to assigned facilities, maintaining ongoing collaboration and communication within the healthcare team, and providing evidence-based direction to medication and health-related needs and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in regular scheduled visits to any assigned facilities, including participation in multidisciplinary rounds and/or committee participation as required.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration and communication within the multidisciplinary healthcare team (including but not limited to: nurses, health care aids, GPs, psychiatrists, mental health therapists, case managers) to develop and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Actively educate and support clients and continuing care staff while providing evidence-based direction to medication and health-related needs and inquiries.
  • Utilize technology, including electronic medication administration record systems, to provide ongoing clinical care to clients and support to their multidisciplinary care team as required.
  • Conduct client medication reviews on an annual and quarterly basis.
  • Ensure appropriate and complete documentation of all assessments, interventions, and clinical work.
  • Ensure continuing care site processes and documentation meet regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in the planning and provision of off-site clinics (e.g., Influenza, educational programs).
  • Complete medication reconciliation upon client admission and re-admission as required.
  • Support general pharmacy operations as required.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the Alberta College of Pharmacists and proficient in the scope of practice of Pharmacists in Alberta.
  • Authorization to Administer Injections.
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization (preferred).
  • Retail/Continuing Care/Long Term Care experience (preferred).
  • Kroll experience (preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A respectful attitude and compassion toward others.
  • The ability to remain calm and handle emergencies.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Participation in a schedule rotation that includes occasional Saturdays & holidays, as well as a rotating on-call support schedule.
Compensation

$115,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience.
