Job Summary

VCA Canada Birchmount Animal Hospital is seeking a reliable and compassionate Veterinary Support Specialist to join our team part-time. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and motivated individual to support our veterinary staff in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments in the exam room
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for pet owners
  • Develop a positive, low-stress atmosphere for patients and adapt to changing situations
  • Take initiative and work independently
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleanliness of reception areas, pet holding areas, and common spaces
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development regarding veterinary services and medical office procedures
  • Support the veterinary team in providing exceptional patient care and customer service

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; veterinary assistant or office assistant certificate an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
