Venture III Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced and fashion-oriented Women's Designer/Merchandiser to lead our creative team in Toronto.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated individual with a strong sense of style and a love for fashion prints to create and execute original product for women's sleep and lounge collections.
Key Responsibilities- Create original design concepts and product assortments for various retailers based on their custom needs.
- Prepare all necessary materials to convey line concepts to clients, including cads and graphics.
- Attend client merchandising meetings to present each line to the customer's buying teams.
- Research seasonal design and colour trends to inform product development.
- Manage trend and product development direction packages, as well as vendor development proposals.
- Sourcing new fabrications suitable for various products.
- Ensure all stages of product development are thoroughly researched to maximize production efficiency and reduce any potential issues causing delivery delay.
- Previewing factory costs of all styles/fabrics to ensure they fit within each customer's budget constraints.
- Analyzing each customer's buying history and reviewing sales performance.
- Lead the graphics team in preparing all artwork required for original textile design.
- Approval of all print strike offs, lab dips, and trims.
- Create label, hangtag, and packaging concepts.
- Lead the team in determining factory placement of bulk production.
- Follow critical path calendar to manage the product development process from end to end.
- Degree in Fashion Design or Merchandising or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of merchandising or design experience in the fashion industry.
- Ability to identify and interpret trend and execute at a commercial level.
- Strong understanding of textile printing is preferred.
- Strong product development skills from conception to finished product.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Experience: design: 10 years (preferred)
Work Location: In person
Pay: Salary, bonus & commission
