Job Summary

Onico Solutions is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our Linux and Windows servers and networks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Server and Network Support: Provide technical support and maintenance for our Linux and Windows servers and networks, including troubleshooting and resolving customer-related issues.
  2. System Maintenance: Perform routine system maintenance tasks, such as monitoring system logs and performing software updates.
  3. Project Work: Take lead on assigned project work, including planning, implementation, and testing.
  4. Ticketing System Management: Manage and monitor the ticketing system queue, ensuring timely resolution of customer issues.
  5. Remote and Onsite Troubleshooting: Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting support as required, including performing administrative tasks and troubleshooting for managed desktop clients.
  6. Log Analysis: Review and analyze system logs, including security and maintenance log files, to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  7. Escalation: Escalate customer issues to next-level technical or vendor support as needed.
  8. Customer Communication: Proactively communicate with customers regarding critical events and provide regular updates on issue resolution.

Requirements

  1. Linux System Administration Experience: 4 years of experience in Linux system administration, including experience with Linux variants such as CentOS, Debian, Red Hat, and Ubuntu.
  2. Windows Server Experience: 4 years of experience with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016 and Windows Desktop 7, 8, 10 administration.
  3. Virtualization Experience: Hands-on experience with VMWare, with Hyper-V experience being an asset.
  4. Firewall Experience: Experience with various firewalls, including CISCO, Fortigate, and SonicWall, with Juniper experience being an asset.
  5. Networking and Systems Security: A good understanding of Internet Services, DNS, Bind, SMTP-mail servers, Web-Hosting, VPN, SAN, and TCP/IP.

Qualifications

This is a permanent position with a salary range of $68,000.00 – $78,000.00 per annum.
