Metal Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at MITTMAN CARRIERS INC. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication, including layout, cutting, and assembly of metal parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lay out reference points and patterns to ensure accurate cutting and assembly of metal parts
  • Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, using a combination of manual and machine-based techniques
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, including shears, saws, and presses
  • Construct patterns and templates to aid in the fabrication process
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in metal fabrication
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment, requiring frequent standing, walking, and lifting
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities
  • Occasional overtime required to meet project deadlines
