We are currently seeking a skilled Contract Field Operator to join our team in Fort St John. This camp-based position requires a strong working knowledge of all aspects of sour field operating activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory and compliance checks and inspections
  2. Operation and routine maintenance of wells, flow lines, and pumping equipment
  3. Accessing remote locations to check wells, maintaining normal operating levels, pressures, and flow on separation equipment
  4. Monitoring and general maintenance of pipeline gathering systems and production wells
  5. Contribute to accurate production records and production well testing
  6. Responsible for the optimization of work processes and production
  7. Accountable for working safely within environmental regulation and company guidelines
  8. Assists with planning construction projects
  9. Provides coordination and assistance to other field and facility operators as needed
  10. Maintaining chemical injection rates; start up and shut-in wells
  11. Entering well tests, downtime, and injection information into a computer database
  12. Monitoring and optimizing production and costs within area of control

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum five years of oil and gas operating experience; preferably with oil and gas producing properties
  2. Demonstrated experience in integrating and coordinating all operational aspects
  3. Experienced in down-hole and surface production equipment
  4. A valid driver's license is required
  5. Demonstrated solid technical skills and problem-solving abilities
  6. Mechanical aptitude with excellent people, organizational, and communication skills
  7. Energetic and self-motivated team player
  8. Working level computer skills
  9. Completion of required safety and technical courses (H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, and TDG)
  10. Production Field/Gas Process Operations training would be preferred
  11. Experience in production monitoring and reporting systems (Cygnet, Scada, Prodview, etc.)
  12. Complete understanding of overall field production operations
  13. Possess excellent people skills
  14. Physical work is required such as lifting, ladder climbing, working at heights
  15. Able to work in seasonal weather conditions
