About the Role


HITACHI RAIL STS CANADA, INC. is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee the development of complex electromechanical systems.



Job Description



  • Analyze and define system requirements for large-scale projects
  • Develop and maintain System Architecture for logical, functional, and physical aspects
  • Lead technical discussions with internal teams and customers
  • Ensure compatibility between subsystems from external suppliers
  • Manage system interfaces and allocate resources effectively
  • Serve as a cross-functional interface between product development, engineering, manufacturing, verification & validation, commissioning, and RAMS teams
  • Participate in optimal overall project technical solution
  • Support customer design reviews and internal design reviews
  • Execute system integration testing
  • Maintain compliance with company processes and applicable standards such as CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC
  • Communicate complex ideas to peers, management, and customers
  • Leverage Microsoft Office suite and other tools for efficient task management
  • Build relationships and demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Prioritize tasks across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Showcase detail-oriented organizational skills
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with P.Eng (PEO) desirable
  • Be proficient in English


Requirements



  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering, with at least 5 years leading as a systems/design engineer
  • Deep understanding of engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle
  • Prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams
  • Strong prior experience with requirements management systems, product lifecycle management systems, defect tracking tools, and software configuration tools
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams
  • Ability to acquire deep understanding of new technologies
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Competency in V-lifecycle, System Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Interface Management
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Clear Criminal Background Check


Compensation and Benefits


The estimated annual salary for this role is $110,000-$140,000 CAD, based on industry standards and location.
