Job Summary

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions to patients based on recovery/treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patients with supervision and guidance, assistance with personal care, comfort, and support in going about daily living, therapeutic, and recreational activities in a safe manner.
  • Participate as an active member of the treatment team, carrying out specific therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions with patients based on recovery/treatment plans.
  • Assist patients with supervision and guidance, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Requirements
  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to perform as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
Working Conditions

The position involves extensive physical activity, including lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment. A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check are required as conditions of employment.
