Responsibilities
- Provide assistance during complex restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal treatments.
- Schedule patients for treatment, obtain medical history, chart examination and treatment information, and record prescriptions.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment, prepare surgical trays, and maintain dental equipment in a clean and operative condition.
- Assist dentists at chair side, perform intra-oral procedures, take impressions, remove sutures, and apply rubber dams.
- Relay dentist instructions to patients, instruct on proper dental techniques, and operate X-ray equipment to take radiographs.

Requirements
- Certificate or Associate Degree from a CODA-accredited program or equivalent experience and training.
- Certification in radiation health, safety, and protection, as well as digital radiographic processing techniques.
- 6 months of experience as a dental assistant after graduation.
