About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist to join our US Corporate Tax practice in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to multinational enterprises on cross-border tax planning, repatriation strategies, and US tax compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze complex tax issues and provide written reports to clients
  • Advise Canadian multinational companies on tax planning and minimization opportunities, including restructurings, due diligence, and transaction structuring for tax issues
  • Provide ongoing support to partners and mentor junior team members in their professional development
  • Work with other services lines and office members to attract new work to the firm
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an accounting firm or law firm, preferably in US tax advisory
  • Education: Masters of Law or Masters of Tax
  • Accreditation: US CPA designation or Enrolled Agent
  • Minimum 1 year experience mentoring and training junior team members, demonstrating strong people management and leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated through delivering presentations and/or client communications
  • Excellent client service skills, demonstrated through 2-3 years experience working directly with clients and providing business solutions
  • Experience managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
