A Camp Attendant and Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the living areas occupied by staff and clients and assisting in the kitchen as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean bedrooms, including making the bed, vacuuming, dusting, washing windows and blinds, washing baseboards, cleaning mirrors, emptying garbage cans, and spot cleaning walls
  • Clean bathrooms, including replacing towels, replenishing toiletries, disinfecting the shower, toilet, sink, taps, and washing the bathroom floor
  • Clean laundry rooms, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning lint traps, replacing laundry supplies as needed, and organizing shelves
  • Clean common areas by mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning walls
  • Exterior housekeeping, including disposing of litter from parking lots and shoveling snow when needed
  • Dish washing duties using the 3-sink cleaning method
  • Stocking, shelving, and replenishing food and supplies in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Cleaning kitchen areas, including wiping counters, disinfecting tables, sweeping, and mopping
  • Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks are completed
  • Washing, peeling, and wrapping food
  • Ensure food quality, food safety, and food standards are followed
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as per task, product usage, or PPE requirements
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and complete hazard assessments/identifications daily
  • Report any maintenance issues and safety concerns to a supervisor
  • Assist in unloading the grocery truck
  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Candidates local to Terrace, Gitlaxt'aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Laxgalts'ap, Gingolx, and surrounding communities preferred
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Available to work multiple rotations, including 21-7, 14-14, and 14-7
  • Must be able to travel to our camp transfer site in Terrace, BC
  • Able to work either a day shift or night shift
  • A valid OFA1 or Standard First Aid Certificate is required
  • A valid FS1 or Alberta Health Services recognized Food Safety Certificate is required
  • A valid CSTS certification is required
  • Steel-toed non-slip work shoes are required for all positions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including reading, writing, and speaking English)
  • Ability to work comfortably and maintain high levels of performance during 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to provide at least 2 professional work references
  • Miscellaneous safety requirements based on position and site requirements
