Job Summary:

Brandt Tractor Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Technician Supervisor. This position will be based at our Vernon Construction & Forestry location and will report directly to the Service Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizational Leadership: Provide daily organizational and dispatch support to the service team, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Quality Control: Oversee the quality of repair work performed by technicians, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Technician Supervision: Supervise and mentor service technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company standards and regulations.
  • Customer Service: Foster a culture of customer service excellence, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and support.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, technicians, and other branch personnel to ensure seamless collaboration and problem resolution.
  • Scheduling: Establish and maintain an on-call field schedule, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing downtime.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department, identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing process improvements.
  • Work Order Management: Open and close work orders, prepare work orders for warranty, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required to support the service department and company goals.

Requirements:

  • Organizational Skills: Possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Skills: Have basic Microsoft Office skills and be proficient in using technical tools and equipment.
  • Availability: Be willing to work after-hours and be available on-call as required.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Experience: Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset.
  • Certifications: Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is required.
  • Service Department Experience: Experience in a service department setting is required.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products is preferred.
  • Licensing: Forklift license is preferred.
