Automation QA Consultant

As an experienced Automation QA with a background in healthcare, you will be responsible for ensuring our digital health platforms meet Canadian healthcare standards and compliance requirements. Your expertise will be critical in building automation frameworks, advancing testing platforms, and ensuring seamless integration within the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Standards & Compliance: Review technical documentation and system specifications to verify alignment with Canadian healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Test Strategy Development: Define test strategies, estimate timelines, create test cases, and manage test data to meet conformance standards specific to healthcare.
  • Automation Frameworks: Build new automation frameworks, enhance existing ones, and design regression suites for functional and conformance testing.
  • Automation Execution: Develop, update, and run automated scripts for web, mobile, and API testing using tools like Selenium, Postman, and Appium.
  • Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire testing lifecycle, ensuring tasks align with compliance standards and project timelines.
  • Documentation & Training: Prepare training materials to support stakeholders with conformance activities and audits.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with teams (PMO, development, delivery, business stakeholders) to manage risks, dependencies, and timelines for project success.
  • Testing Prep & Validation: Confirm testing environments, dependencies, and test data accuracy prior to execution.
  • Feedback for Platform Improvement: Provide real-world scenario feedback to improve testing platforms, simulators, and processes.
  • Conformance Execution: Conduct test cases for web, mobile, and API systems, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Defect Management: Oversee defect cycles by logging issues in Jira, collaborating on resolutions, and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Database Testing: Validate MySQL databases, triggers, and stored data as part of comprehensive testing.
  • API Automation: Create and maintain robust API test scripts for healthcare compliance.
  • Performance Testing: Develop and execute load tests using tools like LoadRunner and JMeter to ensure system efficiency.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Conduct AODA testing on web and mobile applications, providing recommendations for accessibility improvements.
  • KPI Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyze QA KPIs to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement quality improvement plans.
  • Leadership Support: In the absence of a QA Lead, assist in reporting, team coordination, and providing constructive feedback to improve processes.

Requirements:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years in various testing types, including Functional, Integration, Performance, and Regression Testing.
  • 5+ years in Testing Lifecycle Management with tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • 4+ years in testing web, mobile applications, and APIs.
  • 4+ years in automation using Selenium, Appium, or similar tools.
  • 5+ years on healthcare-specific projects and conformance testing.
  • 6+ years in test planning and execution within fast-paced environments.
  • 5+ years in MySQL database testing, including validating stored procedures, triggers, and test data management.
  • 5+ years in API/web service testing (REST, SOAP, Postman).
