We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax planning and compliance processes within the company's Corporate Tax team.
The role involves:
- Leading tax return process: Preparation of calculations, reconciling schedules, and reviewing the work of tax analysts.
- Maintaining records and working papers: Supporting tax returns and ACB of all properties.
- Guiding team development: Developing tax analysts and promoting team cohesion.
- Interfacing with auditors and government agencies: Addressing audit queries and disputes.
- Collaborating with external firms: Supporting tax processes with tax, accounting, and legal experts.
- Providing tax advice: Offering guidance to staff and senior management as needed.
- Preparing financial projections: Taxable income projections and tax cash flows on an entity-by-entity basis.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Strong tax and financial accounting knowledge.
- 5+ years in complex Canadian corporate tax environment, with real estate experience being an asset.
- CICA In-depth tax course completion would be an asset.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
The successful Tax Manager must be client-focused, take accountability for decisions, and conduct themselves in a respectful and ethical manner. They must also be entrepreneurial, a team player, and able to work effectively with colleagues to achieve a common goal.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of **$120,000 - $180,000 per year**, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
