Assistant Manager, Adidas Retail Store Leader

Job Summary:

As a key member of the adidas retail store team, the Assistant Manager will play a vital role in ensuring the store meets its operational, business, and personnel targets. This includes overseeing the daily operation of the store, ensuring compliance with company policies and government legislation, and supporting the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store, including sales, customer service, and visual merchandising.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of store plans, including sales targets, customer service standards, and visual merchandising strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of company policies and procedures, including health and safety, customer service, and visual merchandising standards.
  • Support the Store Manager in managing the store's inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of store staff, including sales associates, visual merchandisers, and management team members.
  • Support the Store Manager in managing the store's budget, including forecasting, budgeting, and expense control.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of store promotions, including sales events, product launches, and in-store events.
  • Support the Store Manager in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, including adhering to health and safety standards and reporting any hazards or incidents to the Store Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements:
  • College or university degree and 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the sporting apparel and footwear industry.
  • Prior management and key holder experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with store staff, customers, and external partners.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 kg, with frequent lifting and moving of up to 12 kg.
