Job Summary

We are seeking a Service Worker I to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Service Worker I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital site by transporting patients and equipment, distributing and replenishing hospital supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients and equipment to and from different patient care areas within the hospital site
  • Distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units
  • Clean equipment and patient care areas as directed
  • Transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts
  • Report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • No physical limitations including lifting, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, standing
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs on a consistent basis
  • Strong organizational, technical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to assume responsibility, to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrates initiative, good judgement, positive attitude and concern for detail and accuracy
  • Ability in the use of tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, staff and physicians
