Job Title: Plant Labourer

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Labourer to join our team at our Brantford, ON site. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our industrial cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of tools and equipment, as well as the industrial services shop.
  • Perform power washing and high-pressure water blasting as required.
  • Conduct line snaking, drain and pipe inspections as needed.
  • Assist with vacuum trucks and plant operations as required.
  • Enter confined spaces for industrial services projects, as needed.
  • Work in tight or cramped spaces, and operate aerial boom lifts and scissor lifts as required.
  • Perform heavy lifting, shoveling, and jackhammering as needed.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including pick-up trucks, utility trailers, forklifts, excavators, and bobcats.
Requirements:
  • Class G license required.
  • Experience working in industrial settings is an asset.
  • Previous experience with vacuum trucks, industrial power-washing, or water-blasting, or liquid waste industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with confined space entry or work at heights is an asset.
  • Experience working with respirators and supplied air systems is an asset.
  • Lift truck, scissor lift, or zoom boom ticket is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts, days, evenings, nights, and possibly weekends or holidays.
  • AZ/DZ license is considered an asset.
  • Must be comfortable with driving and maneuvering a pick-up truck and trailer unit.
  • Friendly and professional, able to deal directly with customer contacts on site.
  • Ability to multi-task, take direction, and work without supervision or within a team at times.
