Job Summary

Darling International Canada Inc., a leading provider of rendering and recycling services to the food industry, is seeking a highly skilled 2nd Class Engineer to join our team at the Dundas, Ontario location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist power plant operations and maintenance, focusing on the safe and efficient operation of a 1st Class high pressure steam plant, compressor systems, water treatment, and air quality control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, including those set by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of Labour, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop the HACCP plan, GMPs, SOPs, and procedures within the department, and when overlapping with other departments and business units.
  • Experience in a rendering or food manufacturing environment is an asset, but not required.
  • Post-secondary education and/or a University Degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Science, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Experience with boilers, water treatment equipment, and other related equipment is required.
  • Experience in operating air quality control systems is preferred.
Requirements
  • Must hold a current valid Ontario 2nd Class operating engineer's certificate.
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely in elevated areas and confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb up to 6 flights of metal stairs safely.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the AODA, ESA, OHSA, and other federal and provincial standards.
