About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and perform standardized tests to determine physical diagnoses
  • Develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families to promote health and well-being
  • Supervise and evaluate physiotherapy students and assistants
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to determine goals and objectives, evaluate effectiveness, and solve problems

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist with:

  • Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (provincial licensing body)
  • Strong computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • WHMIS training and certification
  • Additional courses or education in specialized areas, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, and balance training
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, with French preferred

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. You may be required to work weekends. The hourly rate is $42.90. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
