Job Title: Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Velocity Truck Centre Canada is seeking a 3rd or 4th year apprentice in a heavy duty mechanic program to join our team in Duncan. As an apprentice, you will assist in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial trucks and heavy-duty equipment under the supervision of experienced mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Assist in the removal and replacement of defective parts
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently and safely
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Accurately complete work orders and maintenance logs
  • Interact with customers professionally and courteously
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year apprentice in a heavy duty mechanic program
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in commercial truck repair
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver's license; a Class 3 or Class 1 license is a plus
