Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense and distribute medications, including individual patient prescriptions, ward stock, and narcotics, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in non-sterile and sterile compounding, including TPN, CIVA, and chemotherapy preparation, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Contribute to inventory control and management, ensuring accurate tracking and ordering of medications and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, supporting the overall operation of the pharmacy department.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and procedures.
  • Registration with the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians is a plus.
  • Experience with CIVA and/or chemotherapy preparation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Computer experience is preferred, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, and work record, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience in the manufacturing of sterile and non-sterile products is preferred.
  • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, 8 hours including weekend and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements).
