Network Security Engineer

As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our growing network operations team in Montreal, QC. This role will form part of an expanded global team, focusing on the 24/7 support of our DDoS, WAF, and Firewall services designed to protect both our customer's environments and Continent 8 infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning, configuration, and support of the DoS mitigation platforms, firewall/VPN devices, and Web protection services.
  • Collaborate with the wider network team to implement security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to prevent internal and/or external attacks.
  • Make recommendations and provide technical guidance to solve business problems and improve service availability for customers.
  • Work closely with our software teams in defining the tools that enable security infrastructure scaling at volume.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a network position or related to operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of IP Networking infrastructure and protocols used in large international service provider networks.
  • Experience in packet decoding and analysis during attacks.
  • Solid understanding of Zero Trust Network Access.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of automation practices using Ansible playbook and Python programming is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with Networking Monitoring and Management.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure during security events.
